Two-week Workshop on "Molecular Markers"  immediately  to Follow the Conference

Austin Oct-30-01:  The arrangement is well under way for the GOB (S&T)- and ICGEB-sponsored International workshop on, "Novel Genetic Markers for Crop Improvement" to be held on November 4 through 13 at Dhaka University. The two professors, Dr. Zeba I. Seraj and Dr. Haseena Khan at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and Professor Rakha Hari Sarker  at the Botany Department along with their associates have been painstakingly taking every step possible to make the workshop a success  with limited resources and facilities.

Foreign organizers from IRRI and MAS laboratory at Bangalore  have also put in their efforts for the planning of an effective workshop. Participants from India, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Sri Lanka and Trinidad have started arriving. Local participants include scientists from BARI, BRRI, BJRI, BAU, RU, BAEC, IPSA and BRAC.
